Geneva filmfest to screen ‘The Spit’

Iran’s ‘The Spit’ is to vie at the Geneva Int’l Oriental filmfest in Switzerland.

Iranian short flick ‘The Spit’ has been scheduled to go on screen at the Geneva International Oriental Film Festival (FIFOG) in Switzerland.

The film, co-directed by Emad Emaminia and Armin Rahimian, will be shown at the international competition section of the 16th edition of the Swiss event.

The short film is about a little boy who finds a mechanism to deal with all the social violence issues.

Rahimian, who is also an actor in iFilm movie ‘When the Moon Was Full’, said ‘The Spit’ is an independent short and not part of another feature film. The whole story begins and wraps up within the 7.5 minute limit of the flick.

Sam Valipour is the only cast member of the flick, which was premiered at the Tehran International Short Film Festival in Iran.

The upcoming edition of the FIFOG will host around 40 films of all genres.

As the situation caused by COVID-19 made filmmakers to work in a difficult context, the FIFOG chose this theme to bring them more hope “Hope… a little, a lot, passionately”.

The 2021 edition of the event is slated for June 21-27.
